big red mining company
The Big Red Mining Company is a company of miners/tec hunters from the planet Vermillion. Vermilion is a large red planet with a high gravitational pull, it's inhabitants tend to be short and stocky... and they love a beard.
After hearing of TAPU (The Gutterlands) a huge company of Vermilions came en masse. They set up operations immediately, digging out mines and trenches all over the BLASTLANDS. They were after Old Tec, ancient war technology that was dumped onto the surface during the Great Armistice.
Nowadays you can't go 30 feet without tripping over a Big Red mine. The RUSTY PEAKS are peppered with them. Tonnes of Old Tec has been salvaged, disassembled and sold off as parts. The Old Tec weapons are obviously outlawed throughout the galaxy, but the parts are well received. This can be quite annoying to the treasure hunters in RESPITE.
Landing in RESPITE, they head north towards the RUSTY PEAKS, disrupting every RUSTER encampment along the way. Skirmishes ensued but being well equipped the Big Red pushed on relentlessly.
A few of the Big Red will sell Old Tec in RESPITE to the Colonials, Intact. But they aren't too popular among the citizens. The Big Red don't care to be honest, they have a job to do and they're gonna do it.
You will often see Big Red Miners wielding pickaxes. Despite all of the advanced mining tech they have to hand they carry about a pick as a purely ceremonial display. Passed down from generation to generation they are precious to the Big Red... and they come in handy in a fight.
